From over-aroused to under control

By the end of this unique workshop you’ll understand prey drive, will know how to tell what sort of arousal you are dealing with in your dog AND you’ll understand how to calm down over-arousal in your dog.

Get your place

If you have a high prey drive dog, it is vital to understand what arousal is and what it means for your dog.

  • Some dogs are calm most of the time.
  • Some dogs are high on life. For those dogs, by the time you open the door to go out, they are already through the roof with excited anticipation.
  • Other dogs are dealing with pain, anxiety or fear. These dogs are also aroused but their arousal comes with a more negative emotion.

Arousal will get higher for all of those dogs if prey is around.

All of them need training.

And it is important that the training is tailored to the arousal pattern of the individual dog.

That's what this workshop is all about. You'll learn to identify which category your dog fits into. And you’ll leave with an arousal management plan tailored to your dog’s needs.

You know the usual struggle that over-arousal brings

If you’re living with a dog with high prey drive, you probably face at least one of these regularly:

  • Struggling to manage while your dog lunges to the end of the lead, ignoring.
  • Recall that works perfectly . . . until there’s wildlife.
  • Feeling like you need to somehow know what prey is around even though your dog can smell it way before you ever see it.
  • Guilt that you can’t give them the “right” life for their breed.
  • Frustration that all your training works at home, but vanishes outside.

You’re not alone — and none of this means your dog is beyond help.

It just means you need to understand your dog's arousal pattern and what to do about it.

Online Workshop

This is a practical, do the work now event that will give you direction and a clear plan.

You’ll Get:

  • 5 prompts to make notes on. I’ll send them by email once a day starting on Saturday the 17th of October. You'll need about 5 minutes a day to make notes on each prompt.
  • Then on Friday the 23rd at 2pm UK time we’ll get together by zoom.
I’ll tell you about arousal in detail AND talk you through what each prompt means for your dog. You’ll be able to ask questions and I’ll record the zoom call and share the recording with you.
  • Access to a private online space to share any thoughts, questions and comments as you go through the prompts.

"After years of trying, I finally have a recall I can trust — watching her turn mid-run away from a hedge was incredible."

"We took in a rescue galgo who was used for hunting and always searching for prey. She’s now starting to self-calm sooner, and the training is helping me just as much as her."

Maybe you still have some questions.

Click on any question below for detailed answers that will help you decide if From over-aroused to under control is the perfect fit for you!

Q. What if I’m not sure it’s prey drive?

Then this is perfect for you. The purpose of this workshop is to dig into whether prey drive or arousal is driving your dog more.

Q. I’ve tried training before — what makes this different?

Most training isn’t designed for prey drive. And most training focuses on training mechanics and not the physiological state of your dog. This workshop gives you the knowledge to help your dog get into a state where your training can actually work.

Q. What if I’m really busy?

Even if you can only do 5 minutes a day, you’ll still see progress.

Q. When is the zoom call?

The zoom call will be on Friday the 23rd of October at 2pm UK time. I will record it so you can watch the recording if you can't make them live. And you can use the chat thread to ask me any questions you need in advance.

Q. I’m not techy — will I be able to use the course?

Yes. The platform is simple to use, and I’ll send you a step-by-step welcome email. You can also email me if you get stuck.

Q. Is this suitable if I’ve got more than one dog?

Absolutely.

Q. Do I need special equipment?

No. Whatever you have right now will work.

Q. Tracey, what are your qualifications?

See below to learn more about my skills and credentials in the “About” section — I’ve spent years refining techniques to help you and your dog succeed.

Hi, I’m Tracey, the founder of the High Prey Drive Club, and I can’t wait to help you and your dog thrive together!

For over 20 years, I’ve lived with and trained high prey drive dogs of various breeds. I love the process of turning challenges into opportunities for connection and joy. I know firsthand how overwhelming it can feel, but I’m here to show you that it doesn’t have to be.

My passion is creating simple, effective methods that make life with high prey drive dogs not just manageable — but joyful. Since 2018, I’ve helped hundreds of dog owners just like you transform their lives with their dogs, breaking free from frustration and finding confidence in their training.

Here’s what sets me apart:

Expertise Backed by Science: I hold a master’s degree in Applied Animal Behaviour and Training (with distinction!) and a BSc (Hons) in Canine Behaviour and Training. I’ve even earned an MA (Hons) in Philosophy, giving me a deep understanding of ethics in dog training.

A Leader in the Field: Modern dog training must align with science—but I don’t stop there. I actively contribute to the scientific understanding of prey drive in dogs through published research in Applied Animal Behaviour Science. I’m also a peer reviewer for the journal, ensuring the latest studies help improve lives like yours.

Real Experience, Real Results: My tried-and-true methods have been developed through decades of success with my own dogs and my clients’ dogs. You’ll benefit from the same proven techniques that have helped so many others.
